Agriculture Department                                

Overview

The Agriculture Department of GHADC was established in 2012 with the objective of promoting the farming community of the Garo Hills region in a sustainable and progressive manner.                                                                                                     

Leadership and Responsibilities                                                                                
Agriculture Officer (Head of Department)                                                  

The Agriculture Officer is responsible for:

  • Overall control of official matters within the department.

  • Supervising the duties of sub-ordinate officers and staff.

  • Exercising authority to take disciplinary action against staff and subordinates.

  • Overseeing and monitoring the implementation of all agricultural programs.

  • Ensuring the smooth functioning and administration of the office.                                                                                               

Agriculture Extension Officer
  • Assists the Agriculture Officer in carrying out departmental duties and program implementation.                                                 

Departmental Staff Structure

The Agriculture Department consists of the following supporting staff:

  • Junior Engineer

  • Agriculture Demonstrator

  • Upper Divisional Assistant (UDA)

  • Lower Divisional Assistants (LDA)

  • Typists

  • Office Peons

  • Nursery Chowkidar
