Overview
A significant milestone in the management of Tura’s water supply occurred when the Phase-I Tura Water Supply system, including its distribution infrastructure, was handed over to the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC). This event marked the beginning of GHADC’s direct involvement in local water distribution through the establishment of the Water Works Department.
Phase-I Water Supply System
The Phase-I system included several key water tanks:

Current Status

The water distribution system, now managed by GHADC, serves a total of 4,828 consumers in Tura town.

The department is responsible for delivering water from these tanks to residents, ensuring reliable and sustainable water supply
